Butterflies and Birds of Calwood Outdoor Center
9:00a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Meet at East Boulder Recreation Center, west end of parking
lot to car pool to Calwood. Arrive as the butterflies dry
their wings and take to the air. Bring butterfly field guide
if you have one, binoculars, hat , lunch, water. Learn about
Colorado Butterflies and the birds present. Car pool $2.00
each to driver.

a presentation by Bob Righter, Bob is the author of "Colorado
Birds", "Birds of Western Colorado" and recorder of bird
sounds. Refreshments and an opportunity to meet other club
members. Everyone welcome. Bring a treat to share if you

parking lot to car pool to Doudy Draw. Seek out the early
Spring migrants and early wild flowers will be seen along
the trail.Bring Binocular, snack water. Dress for variable

Dawn Chorus - 5:30 a.m. with Marlene Brunning. See the dawn
rise and with it the dawn chorus of bird song. IMBD Activities
7:30 a.m. to noon. All at Walden Wildlife Habitat at the
shelter. Hourly bird walks starting at 8 a.m. thru 11 a.m.-
by Boulder Bird Club Displays, posters, t-shirts, & refreshments
at the shelter - by Wild Bird Center BIG SIT - count birds
from one location by shelter. Good birds (over 60 species
last year) and good fellowship of birders. Pete Plage & Volunteers
Come and bring the kids. (sorry no pets). Come one -come
all.

9 a.m. to afternoon
View nesting raptors: Redtails, Swainsons, Prairie Falcons,
eagles and more all at non- threatening distances. Meet at
Niwot Park N Ride, Hwy 119 & Niwot Road on the Boulder/Longmont
Diagonal at 9 a.m. and return in afternoon. Bring Lunch,
snacks, water, binocular, scope and radio if you have them.
Be prepared for any weather. Carpool $3.00 each to drivers.

CO
Dr. Donald Kroodsma, author "The Singing Life of Birds".
$55 member, $ 65 non-member. Must register in advance. Late

Birds of the Pawnee Grasslands
6 a.m. to around 6 p.m.
Join master birder Bill Kaemper for his notable annual trip
to the Pawnee. He is able to find those elusive grasslands
birds such as Mountain Plovers, Longspurs, Burrowing Owls,
Orchard Orioles and Nighthawks. Return home via Lower Latham
for shorebirds. Meet at 6 a.m. sharp to form car pools at
the Niwot Park N Ride at Co 119 and Niwot Road. Return around
6 p.m. Car pool fee is $10.00 each to drivers up front. A
full day so be prepared with lots to drink, snacks, lunch,
hat, bug repellant, sun screen and binocular. Scope and radios
if you have them. A great trip that every birder needs to
take and it will be far superior than if you try to find

Twilight Poorwill Stalk
8 p.m. (evening trip)
Go birdwatching at dark! Meet at 8 p.m. sharp at the Four
Mile Creek Open Space parking lot, 0.3 mile west of north
Broadway on Lee Hill Road.. Bring flashlights, binocular,
bug juice and jackets in case it gets cold. Find the elusive
Common Poorwill and see Common Nighthawks. Car pool fee $1.00
each to drivers. return around 9:30 or so. Call leaders if
you plan to attend.

Early Birding in Myers Gulch
6:45 a.m. to around noon
Meet at 6:45 a.m. at the Chautauqua Ranger Cottage on Baseline
Road to form carpools to Myers Gulch Trailhead.. Walk about
3- 4 hours on a wide trail (approx. 5 mi. round trip,), Great
birds to be seen such as Olive -sided Flycatcher, Bluebirds,
MacGillivrays Warblers, Pewees etc. Early morning and great
birding. You may do half of trip if you wish. Bring snack
to have at the continental divide overlook, drink, hat, binocular,
etc. Be prepared for a really nice hike. Return around noon.

Golden Gate State Park
7 a.m. to around 1 p.m.
Meet at 7 a.m. at the east Boulder Rec Center, west end of
main parking lot to car pool to Golden Gate State Park. Return
around 1 p.m. One of the gems of our local State Parks system
and loaded with breeding birds. See the birds, learn their
calls and see the nests with a leader who "knows all the
sounds".Car pool fee $2.00 to drivers up front. Drivers need
State Park pass or pay daily fee from car pool fees. Bring
lunch, be prepared for weather, binocular , hats, bug juice.

Annual Bob O Link Search
7:30 a.m. to around 10:30 a.m.
Bob O Link is a Boulder Valley specialty and you don't want
to miss seeing these special birds ! Meet at 7:30 a.m. sharp
at the Centennial Valley trail head at Gapter and Dimmit
Drive. (by the bridge just west of Baseline where Baseline
curves to the east). Please be careful not to block driveways.
Walk the trails quietly to spot Bob O Links in the tall grasses
and the maybe drive to other spots if needed along Cherryvale
Road. Bring binocular, scope, bug juice, water & snack,
hat etc. Bird until about 10:30 a.m.

Valmont and Jay roads. Meet at Cottonwood Marsh parking

55th Street from either Baseline or South Boulder Road, Meet
at west end of main parking lot.
***SAVERS parking lot at Table Mesa Shopping Ceneter off
Broadway 1/4 block south of intersection of Table Mesa and
Broadway.
CARPOOLING ON TRIPS: We would like to
ask that all participants pay their carpooling fee up front
to driver at the beginning of the trip. Many times at the
end of trip we forget and hopefully this will help as gas
continues to get more expensive. Please be prepared with
the exact amount, and don't wait for driver to ask you for
it. JUST DO IT. Thanks
