January 2
FIRST SUNDAY BIRDING
9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Walden Wildlife habitat. Meet at Cottonwood marsh at 9 a.m. and bird until 11 a.m. Dress for cold weather with warm footwear, bring water and a snack. Free. Everyone welcome.

January 15
VALMONT RESERVOIR
8:30 a.m. to noon
Bird within the Xcel Company property. A rare opportunity to visit these lakes up close. Meet at 8:30 a.m. at the parking lot inside the gates and wait for the leaders. Bird till noon. Bring water & snacks and have boots in case it is muddy. From Arapahoe take 63rd street north to the power plant entry gates on the east side of the road. A special treat for members only.

February 12
WINTER RAPTOR TOUR
9:30 a.m. to about 2:30 p.m.
Tour the best areas north of Boulder with super hawk watchers! Meet at 9:30 a.m at Cottonwood marsh. Walden Wildlife habitat to carpool. Joint trip with BCNA & Boulder Audubon. Bring scopes lunch, water, snacks, binocks, scopes and two way radios. Bird until about 2:30. All are welcome.

February 26
WINTER BIRDS OF THE HIGH COUNTRY
8:00 a.m. to early afternoon
Carpool to areas along the Peak to Peak Highway. Look for Rosy Finches, Grosbeaks, Clark's Nutcrackers, Gray Jays etc. Meet at Justice Center at 6th and Canyon at the end of the eastern parking lot. at 8 a.m. and bird until early afternoon. Bring money for lunch at the Millsite Inn. Bring all the usual plus radios if you have 'em. Carpool $3.00 to drivers please. Everyone welcome. Call in advance to register with the leader.

SANDHILL CRANES OF MONTE VISTA
Travel to Monte Vista on Friday, bird on Saturday and return on Sunday. Form your carpool and make and pay for your own motel reservations. Bring lunch for Saturday. Saturday evening meal we will reserve spaces at Dos Rios Restaurant and breakfasts on your own. Full details given to those who call to register.

SUNDAY MORNING BIRD STROLL ALONG THE BOB O LINK TRAIL
9:00 a.m. to about 11:30 a.m.
Join a leisurely stroll on a beautiful Colorado morning along the trail to see any birds that are present. Meet at the front door to the East Boulder Rec Center at 9 a.m. and bird until about 11:30.

  • DIRECTIONS to meeting places:
    *Walden Wildlife Habitat - off North 75th Street between Valmont and Jay roads. Meet at Cottonwood Marsh parking area.
    **East Boulder Recreation Center - 5660 Sioux Drive. Take 55th Street from either Baseline or South Boulder Road, Meet at west end of main parking lot.
    ***SAVERS parking lot at Table Mesa Shopping Ceneter off Broadway 1/4 block south of intersection of Table Mesa and Broadway.
  • CARPOOLING ON TRIPS: We would like to ask that all participants pay their carpooling fee up front to driver at the beginning of the trip. Many times at the end of trip we forget and hopefully this will help as gas continues to get more expensive. Please be prepared with the exact amount, and don't wait for driver to ask you for it.
