Walden Wildlife Habitat. Meet at Cottonwood Marsh parking lot at 9 a.m. and bird until noon. Look for Fall birds and incoming waterfowl, eagles etc. Everyone welcome. Dress for variable weather. Free.

Doudy Draw or South Mesa Trail Fall Birds
8:30 a.m. to noon
Take a Fall walk to look for birds along one of these trails. Possibilities include Scrub Jays, Mountain Chickadees, Fall raptors, Towhees etc. Meet at 8:30 a.m. East Boulder Rec Center to car pool to trail head. Bird until noon. Car pool .50. Dress for variable weather. It promises to be a lovely fall walk. Everyone welcome.

Birding Stops in the South County
8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Look for birds and waterfowl in south Boulder County. Check out some areas we seldom go to. Meet at East Boulder Rec Center at 8 a.m. and bird to about 11 a.m. Car pool fee 1.00 to drivers. Dress for variable weather.

Visit some of the special places of Boulder County north and east of Boulder including Little Gaynor Lake, Union Reservoir, maybe St. Vrain SP and other promising areas. A great trip to see waterfowl and raptors . Meet at Cottonwood Marsh at Walden Wildlife Habitat at 8:30 a.m. sharp. Plan on birding until about 2 p.m. bring lunch, water, snacks and be prepared to car pool to birding areas. $3.00 car pool fee. Dress in layers. Bring scopes and radios if you have them. Everyone welcome.

Join us at Cottonwood Marsh (in Walden Ponds) to start our trip around the Walden/Sawhill Complex of ponds. Find wintering waterfowl, eagles, osprey, Great Horned owls, wintering birds. Always a lovely winter walk in one of our favorite areas. Free. Everyone welcome.

Christmas Bird Count
Dawn to late p.m.
Try something new and different. Join one of 30 teams of 2 to 5 birders to count birds from dawn to late afternoon. Or you can do a count at your backyard feeder. Contact Bill Schmoker to join a team or to sign up as a feeder watcher. Boulder CBC is one of the oldest in the nation, be a part of it! There is a compilation following the birding which Bill can tell you about when you call. Novice to experienced birders are welcome as are first time CBC'ers.   • DIRECTIONS to meeting places:
    *Walden Wildlife Habitat - off North 75th Street between Valmont and Jay roads. Meet at Cottonwood Marsh parking area.
    **East Boulder Recreation Center - 5660 Sioux Drive. Take 55th Street from either Baseline or South Boulder Road, Meet at west end of main parking lot.
    ***SAVERS parking lot at Table Mesa Shopping Ceneter off Broadway 1/4 block south of intersection of Table Mesa and Broadway.
  • CARPOOLING ON TRIPS: We would like to ask that all participants pay their carpooling fee up front to driver at the beginning of the trip. Many times at the end of trip we forget and hopefully this will help as gas continues to get more expensive. Please be prepared with the exact amount, and don't wait for driver to ask you for it.
