FIRST SUNDAY BIRDING
9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Walden Wildlife Habitat/Sawhill Ponds complex. Meet at Cottonwood marsh parking lot 9 a.m. to noon. Look for Fall birds and incoming waterfowl or lingering shorebirds. Everyone welcome. Dress for variable weather. Free.

FALL BIRDS OF DOUDY DRAW (or the South Mesa Trail)
8:30 a.m.
Visit one of the "birdiest" places of Boulder County on this Fall walk to see what birds are present. Possibilities include Scrub Jays, Mountain Chickadees, Fall Warblers, Towhees. Fall foliage. Dress for the variable weather. Meet at East Boulder Recreation Center , west end of the main parking lot at 8:30 a.m. and bird until noon. Carpool .50. Everyone welcome.

SANDSTONE RANCH
8:30 to 1 or 2 p.m.
Visit this beautiful new open space area along the St. Vrain River. Lots of interesting habitat that has already yielded a huge bird list. Fantastic views of plains and mountains. Meet at Sandstone Ranch just inside the gates at 8:30 a.m. sharp and drive with leaders to parking area. Walk ( on nice flat trails) and bird until 1 or 2 p.m. depending on birds present. May go on to St. Vrain State Park ( State Park Pass needed or a day fee). Dress for variable weather and bring lunch, drink and snacks. Located east of Longmont about 1 mile east of County Line Road on CO Hwy 116 on south side of the road. Everyone welcome. Free.

November 13, 2004
WINTER RAPTORS OF BOULDER COUNTY
9:00 a.m., lasts for 3/4 day.
This driving trip will cover all the best areas north of Boulder to see the many raptors that spend their winter with us in the Boulder area. Rough-legs, Red Tails, Golden Eagle, Bald Eagles, Kestrels, etc. Great way to learn to identify, and enjoy these magnificent birds. Everyone welcome. Meet at Niwot Park N Ride at intersection of CO Hwy 119 (Diagonal Highway) and Niwot Road at 9 a.m. and bird for 3/4 day. Bring Lunch,snacks, water and dress for variable weather.Bring Scopes and Talk A Bout Radios if you have them. Carpool fee 2.00 to drivers. Everyone welcome.

CIRCLE OF LAKES/Circle of Life
8:30 a.m. until about 2 p.m.
As winter approaches see the return of waterfowl and wintering birds to our area completing the yearly circle of life. Carpool (2.00 to drivers) to visit the best areas north of Boulder; Boulder Reservoir, Little Gaynor Lake, then on to Union and other promising areas. Bring lunch (eat at Pella Crossing), water and snacks, Dress for weather. A great trip to see waterfowl and raptors. Bring scopes and radios if you have them. Meet at Cottonwood Marsh at Walden Wildlife Habitat at 8:30 a.m. sharp. Plan on birding until about 2 p.m. Everyone welcome.

If you have never participated on a CBC sign up with Bill Kaempfer right away to be assigned to a team. You will enjoy participating in this unique event. All birders, all abilities welcome from beginner through expert are welcome. The first Boulder CBC was held in 1909 and has continued on through the years. Be a part of it !!!

  • DIRECTIONS to meeting places:
    *Walden Wildlife Habitat - off North 75th Street between Valmont and Jay roads. Meet at Cottonwood Marsh parking area.
    **East Boulder Recreation Center - 5660 Sioux Drive. Take 55th Street from either Baseline or South Boulder Road, Meet at west end of main parking lot.
    ***SAVERS parking lot at Table Mesa Shopping Ceneter off Broadway 1/4 block south of intersection of Table Mesa and Broadway.
  • CARPOOLING ON TRIPS: We would like to ask that all participants pay their carpooling fee up front to driver at the beginning of the trip. Many times at the end of trip we forget and hopefully this will help as gas continues to get more expensive. Please be prepared with the exact amount, and don't wait for driver to ask you for it. JUST DO IT. Thanks
